Description:

Each year the evidence grows more conclusive that humans are warming Earth's atmosphere by their everyday activities. As a result, polar ice is melting, and sea levels may rise drastically in this century alone. Warming climates are also causing more frequent and violent thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes. In this eye-opening book, award-winning writer Laurence Pringle explains why-and even offers some practical steps we can take to avert a global disaster of our own making.
