Dr. Lance Craighead lectures in biology at Montana State University, where he is involved in ongoing genetic research with grizzly bears. He is also Scientific Coordinator for American Wildlands, Vice President of the Northern Rockies Conservaiton Cooperative, and Research Director of the Craighead Environmental Research Institute. He is the author of many articles and studies of bears, particularly grizzly bears. The Craighead family has a long tradition and prestigious reputation for it work with bears both in print and on film.
