MYRA PAPERNY is the author of three young adult novels: The Wooden People , which won the Governor General's Award (then known as the Canada Council Prize); Take a Giant Step , which was shortlisted for the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction; and Nightmare Mountai n. She has been a lecturer at the University of Calgary and a workshop facilitator in the areas of children's literature and creative writing, as well as a book reviewer for CBC Radio and a newspaper reporter in Vancouver. Myra Paperny lives in Calgary.
