With his father's encouragement he leaves his home for the West to discover its weakness. Ho ends up in Paris during WWI and makes contacts with the Communists. He manages to appear at the Versailles Conference after the War to appeal for his countries independence but he is thrown out of the meeting. He goes to Moscow arriving to take part in Lenin's funeral. With Michael Borodin he heads to China to help Chiang Kai Chek free itself of the foreign occupiers. However, Chiang turns on the Communists and attacks them.…

The author grew up in Detroit and he studied Asian History at the Detroit Institute of Technology, the University of Michigan, and Wayne State University. He taught Asian History at the Detroit Institute of Technology. During the Vietnam War he was involved in numerous protests against this conflict. He currently lives in Southern California.
