My name is Jeremy Gerard Vincent, and I was born in Kaplan Louisiana (30mi South of Lafayette). South Louisiana is such a different world from the rest of the country. The culture and landscape offer a plethora of fascinating experiences to cultivate young minds searching for answers. In addition, I am the last child of 9 ("the baby"- as I am often referred to even at 36) which has inevitably combined segments of 8 different personalities into my own. I am so proud and fortunate to be a part of my family. I started working at the age of 15 for a large rice farming outfit. We worked from 6:00am until 10:00pm most days, and this was the most formidable years of my young life. I learned much… about common-sense from the elder men I worked with and for. After High School, I tried college for a semester and ran out of patience and money. I decided to drop out and go into the oil-field. The work was fun and hard, but the uncertainties of job security lead me to look into the military. After finishing an off-shore job one day, I jumped in my truck and drove an hour north to the closest recruiting office. I joined the United States Air Force at 19, and then started my trek back home to tell my parents. They were quite shocked but understood I had made my decision. The military was a wonderful home for me. After roughly 4 frac12; years, I fell in love with a wonderful, beautiful, and intelligent woman in her second year of Radiology Residency. I was Honorably Discharged from the military in 1998 and we were married in 1999. In 2001, we found out my wife was pregnant with our first child (Hannah) while stationed at Little Rock Arkansas. We were stationed at Langley AFB in 2003 where in 2004 we had another child (Madelyn) and I finished my Bachelors Degree. In 2005, my wife was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Air Force and we have relocated to a suburb of Richmond Va.
