Florian Monheim studied Graphic Art in Braunschweig and Photo Design at the University for Applied Sciences in Dortmund, Germany. These two disciplines and being the son of an architect, influenced him and lead him to his passion; the photographic visualisation of classical architecture and its relationship with the environment. With a keen eye for detail, Monheim uses a big format camera to make the smallest detail visible. Having already established his own collection of distinctive architectural images, Monheim founded his own specialised photo library, the Bildarchiv Monheim, in 1995, which has grown to be one of the leading libraries in the field of historical and modern architecture.
